DISTRICT 4 GOLF: VALLEY GOLFERS STRUGGLE ON DAY 2 AT CLASS AA CHAMPIONSHIPS (2 PHOTOS) (2018-10-05)

WILLIAMSPORT — Both Athens senior Nate Kennedy and Sayre senior James Kennedy struggled on Day 2 of the District 4 Class AA golf championships here Friday morning at the Williamsport Country Club.

Kennedy shot a 100 in the second round to finish 22nd with a two-day total of 189, while Esposito shot a 107 to finish 24th with a 194.

Central Columbia’s Grant Gronka won District 4 gold, following up his opening-round 72 with a 74 for a two-day total of 146.

Wellsboro’s Ben Barnett shot the best round of the day Friday with a two-over par 73 to finish, and finished second with a two-day total of 147.

Cowanesque Valley’s Austin Outman was third with a 157, while his teammates Tanner Adriance, who had a two-day total of 161, and Tyler Vargeson, two-day total of 169, finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Wellsboro’s Brandyn Tuttle and Ty Morral finished tied for eighth with two-day totals of 170, and Wellsboro’s Joe Propheta was 12th with a 172.

Towanda’s Tyler Hawley placed 16th with a two-day total of 177.
