Some how, some way for nearly three years, the Athens Lady Wildcats have found a way to win.

On most occasions during that span, Athens simply used superior talent, but there have been the rare instances where they've been pushed to the limit.

Tuesday night, the Lady Wildcats extended their winning streak in NTL play, which dates back to Oct. 7, 2011, to 45 games and they did it without several key starters and with six freshmen on the field. ...more

If there was any doubt Troy was a top-notch football team, it was dispelled Saturday night in the Trojans 34-7 thumping of Waverly at Memorial Stadium.

With Brandon Mattocks and Diante Jones torching the Wolverines on the perimeter and a slew of backs picking up tough yardage between the tackles as well as QB Isaac Havens sneaking his way to a 100-plus yards, Troy piled up more than 500 yards on the ground. ...more

Despite a couple of turnovers and a slew of penalties, Athens played a pretty solid half of football against a very explosive Wellsboro team.

Tyler Forbes ran the ball hard and threw the ball well with junior wide receiver Austin Lister, a transfer from the soccer team, making a very nice catch on a 38-yard pass in the first quarter. ...more
