STATE COLLEGE, Pa. Penn State had a six-game win streak snapped Sunday at Purdue, but are now 15-14 on the season, including a 7-0 record at home in NCAA baseball action.

Sayre grad Taylor Skerpon has started all 29 games this season for Penn State. He is hitting .250 (24 hits in 96 at-bats) and with 18 walks has a .367 on-base percentage. He has 12 RBI, 19 runs scored and seven sacrifice bunts. He is also 9-for-11 in stolen base attempts. ...more

THE VALLEY At this point, with rain-soaked field trying to recover from a lengthy winter freeze,  it won't take much rain to force postponements on the baseball and softball diamonds throughout the area.

The light precipitation and the forecast for heavier rains early this afternoon have already force the postponement of Sayre's trip to Liberty for softball and to Mansfield for baseball this afternoon. They will be made up Tuesday.

The switch to Tuesday has forced Sayre to postpone its home games scheduled with Sullivan County. No make-up date has been announced.

Sayre's track meet scheduled for Tuesday at North Penn has also been postponed and re-scheduled for April 22.

  The Waverly-Watkins Glen baseball and softball games have been postponed. No make-up date has been announced.

The Waverly-Edison tennis match has also been postponed and re-scheduled for Tuesday.

The Waverly-Candor golf match has also been postoned.

  The Tioga-S-VE baseball and softball games have also been postponed. No make-up date has been announced.
