SECTION IV GIRLS BOWLING: WAVERLY'S BOWMAN WINS INDIVIDUAL SILVER — LADY WOLVERINES FINISH FIFTH AT CLASS B CHAMPIONSHIP (2017-02-11)

VESTAL — Junior Cassy Bowman won the individual silver medal, but Waverly finished fifth in the Section IV, Class B Championships here Saturday morning at Midway Lanes.
Windsor’s Abby Harder claimed the individual gold with a 582 series, while Bowman won silver with a 509 series on games of 141, 201, 167. Windsor’s Victoria Brown won the bronze with a 507 series.
Windsor won the team gold with a three-game set of 2,404, while Susquehanna Valley was second with a 2,329 series, Chenango Valley was third at 2,206, Owego was fourth at 2,113, and Waverly tallied 2,093. Chenango Forks was sixth at 2,047.
Senior Rubina Tracy was 12th in Class B for the Lady Wolverines with a 476 series on games of 180, 151, and 145, while junior Tiffany Czebiniak shot a 408, and senior Jennifer Mauersberg added a 389.
Freshman Mackenzie Plouse rolled two games and had a 231, while junior Chenelle Huddleston rolled an 80 in her only game of the day.
Waverly, by virtue of winning the IAC Large School title, returns to action next Saturday at the Section IV State Qualifier at the Valley Bowling Center.
