WAVERLY — Painted Post plated five runs in the home half of the fourth inning to rally for a 10-7 win over Waverly in the consolation bracket semifinals of the District 6 Little League Majors Division baseball playoffs.
Waverly, playing as the visiting team, took a quick 2-0 lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. Bryce Bailey reached base on an error to lead off the game, then stole second and third base, and scored on a groundout to first base off the bat of Jake VanHouten.
With two outs, Kaden Wheeler walked, Brady Blauvelt reached base on a dropped third strike, and Isaiah Bretz was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Gage Tedesco then plated Waverly’s second run with an RBI single.
Painted Post took advantage of three consecutive Waverly errors to open the home half of the first inning to trim the deficit to 2-1.
Lucas Saurbaugh tied the game for Painted Post in the bottom of the second with a solo home run. They added a run later in the frame to take a 3-2 lead.
In the third inning, Blauvelt blasted a two-run home run over the center-field fence to give Waverly a 4-3 lead. Two batters later, Tedesco ripped a two-run blast over the left-field fence to make it 6-3.

Waverly loaded the bases with one out in the sixth inning — on singles by Jay Pipher and VanHouten, sandwiched around a walk to Brayden Talada, but only managed one run on a Painted Post error.
