ELMIRA HEIGHTS - Davis Croft poured in 17 first-half points to get Waverly off to a fast start in a 65-22 rout of Thomas A. Edison here Saturday afternoon in IAC South Large School junior varsity boys basketball action.
Croft scored 11 points in the first quarter, and Joey Tomasso and Kobe Decker added four points apiece as the junior Wolverines raced out to a 23-6 lead after the first eight minutes.
Croft scored six more points in the second quarter, and Brennan Traub added four points as Waverly extended its lead to 40-15 at the intermission.
Seven different Waverly scorers found the scoring column in the second half, led by Tomasso's six points and Brennan Traub's five points.
Croft led Waverly with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocked shots, while Tomasso had 10 points and three rebounds, and Traub had nine points and three assists.
Kobe Decker had eight points and four boards in the win, while Blauvelt had six points, three rebounds, and three assists, Liam Traub grabbed seven rebounds, and Thomas Hand added three steals and three assists.
Waverly returns to action Tuesday at Lansing.
