ON TAP TODAY: PIAA WRESTLING CONTINUES, SAYRE GIRLS OPEN STATE PLAYOFFS (2019-03-07)

THE VALLEY - Athens senior David Galasso and freshman Gavin Bradley look to guarantee themselves state hardware this morning with a win in quarterfinals of the PIAA Class AA wrestling championships in Hershey, while the Sayre girls open play in the state playoffs against District 3 champ Linden Hall tonight.

WRESTLING
PIAA Class AA Championships, 9 a.m., Hershey @ Giant Center:
Galasso, who won his opening round in dominant fashion Thursday morning with a 17-2 technical fall, Southwest Region runner-up Christian Clutter (41-3) of McGuffey in the quarterfinals.

Bradley, who won a 4-2 decision over Glendale freshman Suds Dubler in the opening round, will square off with unbeaten Southeast Region champ Lucas Haines of Biglerville in the quarterfinals. Dubler entered his match with Bradley at 39-2, while Haines enters at 38-0.

Class AA Opening Round
Sayre (20-7) vs. Linden Hall (18-3), 6 p.m. @ Conestoga Valley H.S.: The Lady Redskins are coming off a 55-26 loss to District 4 championship game, while the Lady Lions avenged a loss in last year's District 3 title game with a 56-27 win over York Catholic for their first-ever district crown.

Linden Hall, which is officially the Linden Hall School for Girls, is located in Lititz, Pa., and was founded in 1746.

The Lady Lions feature a "smothering" defense, and a balanced offense, led by Hetta Saatman, who will play at Division I Drexel next year.
