COLLEGE GOLF: SAYRE GRAD MURRELLE FINISHES THIRD AT ELMIRA COLLEGE SPRING INVITE (2019-04-25)

ELMIRA "” Sayre grad Ryan Murrelle, a freshman on the Keuka College men's golf team, finished third here Tuesday at the Elmira College Spring Invitational.

Murrelle fired a 5-over par round of 77 on the par-72 Elmira Country Club course.

The third-place finish was the second-best by a Keuka College golfer at the Elmira tournament in 11 tries.

Murrelle continues his strong freshman year. He has defeated 275 golfers in the field this season - fourth best in program history.

On Saturday, Murrelle shot a 79 to finish fifth at the SUNY Cobleskill Spring Invitational.

Murrelle opened the spring season April 10 with a 10th-place finish at the Keuka College Spring Invitational. He shot an 82 at the Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan.

Keuka College wraps up the spring season this weekend at the NEAC Championship at the Foxchas Golf Club in Stevens, Pa.
