SECTION IV SOFTBALL: WAVERLY, TIOGA WILL OPEN PLAYOFFS AT HOME (2019-05-21)

THE VALLEY "” Waverly will open the upcoming Section IV playoffs at home next week, while Tioga opens at home Thursday.

CLASS B PLAYOFFS
Second-seed Waverly (16-2) receives a bye into the semifinals, and will host the winner of the game between third-seed Windsor (9-7) and sixth-seed Dryden (7-6) on May 30 at 4:30 p.m.

On the other side of the bracket, top-seed Susquehanna Valley (13-2) hosts the winner of the game between fourth-seed Owego (6-10) and fifth-seed Chenango Forks (8-5).

The finals are set for June 1 at the BAGSAI Softball Complex.

CLASS C PLAYOFFS
Fifth-seed Tioga (11-5) hosts 12th-seed Groton (9-8) in the opening round of the Class C playoffs Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

The winner will face the winner of the game between fourth-seed Candor (14-4) and 13th-seed Sidney in the quarterfinals on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

At the top of the bracket, top-seed Notre Dame (13-3) receives a bye and will face the winner of the game between 8th-seed Harpursville (11-7) and ninth-seed O-M (11-7) in the quarterfinals.

On the other side of the bracket, IAC champ second-seed Edison (15-3)  hosts 15th-seed Oxford (6-7) Thursday, while seventh-seed Bainbridge-Guilford (14-5) hosts 10th-seed S-VE (9-8).

Third-seed Greene (12-3) hosts 14th-seed Unatego (8-8), and sixth-seed Newark Valley (9-7) hosts 11th-seed Union Springs (8-9).
