THE VALLEY — Waverly had three players — senior Montana Davis, junior Jalen McCarty, and freshman Caden Hollywood — named IAC Division 3 first-team all-stars in recent voting by the division’s coaches.
Seniors Colby Sindoni and Cole Jenner, and junior Ethan Stotler received honorable mention recognition.
Montana Davis, senior, catcher: A strong defensive catcher with a good arm, Davis hit .313 (25 hits in 80 ABs) this season with three doubles, 20 RBI, 18 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases.
Jalen McCarty, junior, shortstop: A solid defender, McCarty earned his bones at the plate. He hit .356 (26 hits in 73 ABs) on the season with five doubles, six RBI, 28 runs scored and 14 stolen bases. He also walked 15 times and had an on-base percentage of .466.
Caden Hollywood, freshman, pitcher / first base: A good defender at first base, Hollywood hit .279 )17 hits in 61 Abs) this season with five doubles, seven RBI, 13 runs scored, and five stolen bases. He also walked 10 times and had a .413 on-base percentage.
Hollywood made his biggest impact on the mound. He was 7-0 with a 2.15 ERA, while striking out 44, walking 36 and allowing 27 hits in 45 2/3 innings.
Colby Sindoni, senior, outfield / pitcher: A speedy center fielder able to cover a lot of ground, Sindoni hit .299 (20 hits in 67 ABs) with two doubles, 11 RBI, 14 runs scored, and non stolen bases. He also walked 11 times and had a .405 on-base percentage.
Sindoni was stellar on the mound, posting a 3-2 record with a 1.72 ERA. He struck out 25 and walked 18 in 36 2/3 innings, while allowing 33 hits.
Cole Jenner, senior, third base / pitcher: Jenner hit .242 (15 hits in 62 ABs) on the season with five doubles, one home run, seven RBI, 18 runs scored, and six stolen bases.
On the mound, Jenner was 1-1 with a 3.05 ERA. He struck out 12 and walked 10 in 18 1/3 innings, while allowing 18 hits.
Ethan Stotler, junior, outfield / pitcher: A good defensive outfielder, Stotler hit .318 (21 hits in 66 ABs) with four doubles, two triples, 13 RBI, 16 runs scored, and eight stolen bases.
On the mound, Stotler was 3-2 with a 2.07 ERA, with 11 strikeouts and seven walks. He allowed 30 hits in 23 2/3 innings.
