THE VALLEY — Tioga had three players — sophomores Kindra Wessels and Olivia Ayres, and junior Michaela Webb — earn first-team IAC South Small School Division all-stars, and three more earn honorable mention recognition.
Kindra Wessels, sophomore, pitcher: Wessels was Tioga’s mainstay on the mound, posting a 13-6 record with a 1.82 ERA, and 148 strikeouts in 119 1/3 innings. She walked 32 and allowed 93 hits, and opponents hit .193 against her this season.
At the plate, Wessels hit .508 (32 hits in 63 ABs) with 12 doubles, three triples, 20 RBI, 31 runs scored, and eight stolen bases. She waked 11 times for an on-base percentage of .587, had a slugging percentage of .794 and an OPS of 1.380.
Olivia Ayers, sophomore, shortstop: A strong glove at shortstop, Ayres hit .441 (30 hits in 68 ABs) on the season with one double, nine RBI, 21 runs scored, and 16 stolen bases.
Michaela Webb, junior, catcher: A good defensive catcher with a strong arm, Webb hit .271 (16 hits in 59 ABs) with four RBI, 19 runs scored, and 15 stolen bases. She walked 13 times and had a .403 on-base percentage.
Giovanna Rossi, junior, second base: A good defensive second baseman, Rossi hit .463 (25 hits in 54 ABs) with eight doubles, three triples, two home run, 32 RBI, 20 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases.
Julia Bellis, freshman, third base: A good defensive third baseman, Bellis hit .390 (23 hits in 59 ABs) with four doubles, 21 RBI, 15 runs scored, and seven stolen bases. She walked 12 times and had an on-base percentage of .507.
Austyn Vance, freshman, outfield: A strong-armed outfielder, Vance hit .339 (19 hits in 56 ABs) with three doubles, three triples, 16 RBI, 13 runs scored, and 12 stolen bases.
