YOUTH BASEBALL: WALKS COSTLY IN TIOGA'S FIRST TEENER LEAGUE LOSS (2019-06-20)

VESTAL - Vestal Green scored all its runs via bases on balls, then turned back a Tioga rally to post 4-3 Tri County Teener League victory here Thursday.

Cody Lavigne started the comeback attempt when he opened the sixth reaching on an error.  Following an out, Karson Sindoni and Drew Macumber delivered back-to-back RBI singles. Macumber would steal second and third, then score on an error by the catcher to close the gap to 4-3.

With two down, Hunter VanWagenen singled and Zach Kotsubka drew a walk, but Tioga was unable to score any more runs.

Vestal scored its initial run in the bottom of the first on four walks. The Green added the other three runs in the second on six more walks.

Sindoni no-hit the hosts for 1 1/3 innings, but walked eight and had one strikeout.  Frank Chapman came on in relief and struck out four, allowing one hit and three walks.

Tioga's other hit came from Cameron Rought.

Tioga (2-1) hosts Vestal Gold (4-1) Sunday at 6 p.m.
