DISTRICT 15 LITTLE LEAGUE (MAJORS): RTL PULLS AWAY FROM SAYRE (2019-06-23)

SAYRE "” RTL scored four runs in the third inning, and seven more in the fourth to pull away for a 17-4 four-inning win over Sayre here Sunday afternoon in pool play action in the District 15 Majors Division baseball playoffs.

RTL scored one run in the top of the first inning, and five more in the second to take a 6-0 lead, but Sayre answered with a rally in the home half of the second inning.

After a hit batsman and three consecutive walks forced home Sayre first run of the inning, Hudson Trump, Karter Green, and Jackson Varner delivered consecutive RBI singles to trim the deficit to 6-4.

Sayre loaded the bases with one out in the fourth inning on a walk and back-to-back singles by Varner and Logan Zingeser, but couldn't muster a run.

Varner stroked three singles and drove in one run to pace Sayre at the plate, while Green singled twice and drove in one run, and Hudson Trump singled, scored one run, and drove in one run.

Kevin Learn and Zingeser each singled in the loss, while Hogan Shaw scored a run and drove in a run, and Kayne McCutcheon and Austin Stedge each scored one run.

Sayre falls to 0-2 in pool play.
