DISTRICT 6 LITTLE LEAGUE (MAJORS): WAVERLY RIDES COMBINED TWO-HITTER TO 10-0 WIN OVER ELMIRA HEIGHTS (2019-06-24)

ELMIRA HEIGHTS "” Carter Davies and Kohen Hugo combined on a two-hitter to lead Waverly to a 10-0 five-inning win over Elmira Heights here Monday evening in pool play action in the District 6 Majors Division baseball playoffs.

Davies allowed two hits over four inning, while striking out six and walking four to earn the win. Hugo struck out two and walked one in a scoreless inning of relief.

 Waverly scored in each of the five innings, scoring five runs in the fourth inning to take command.

Davies paced Waverly at the plate with a triple, double, two runs scored, and two RBI, while Hugo singled, scored three runs, and drove in one run, Kadyn Whitney singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run, and Lincoln Sharpsteen singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run.

Bryce Laforest drove in one run, and Ben Shaw and Andrew Larrabee each scored one run in the win.

Waverly, 1-1, in pool play hosts Elmira Wednesday at 6 p.m.
