Valley Sports Report
WAVERLY — River Road Media Group, parent company of Valley Sports Report, and Circle W Sports announced a partnership Sunday with the Waverly Central School District to provide an athletic Web site for all Wolverine sports.
The site will feature pages for each team, rosters, player profiles, schedules, statistics, a Booster Club page, historical information, and much, much more.
“This is a great project that will improve how we disperse information, not only locally, but across the country to family members and friends,” said Waverly Booster Club president Kyle McDuffee. “We will be able to archive information for people to refer to for years to come.
“Perhaps most importantly, this will help us promote our student-athlete,” he noted.
“We appreciate the booster club moving this project forward, said Waverly Superintendent of School Eric Knolles. “It will give our student-athletes and teams greater exposure.
“It will also provide a digital platform for our fans and the community to access,” he added.
“This is something that has been needed for quite some time,” said Tim Birney, owner of River Road Media and a Waverly graduate. “Waverly has a number of great programs and athletes, and they all deserve recognition.
“On a personal level, I’m excited to be able to give back to my alma mater,” he said. “I look forward to what the future will bring.”
"The Circle W Sports family continues to grow and we couldn't be happier that Waverly is coming on board with us," said Ed Weaver, owner of Circle W Sports. "We've made it our mission since we started to help teams promote their programs and student-athletes.”
Circle W Sports, which was founded in 2006 with its initial site WellsboroFootball.com, now boasts 29 Web sites, including the NTL and District 4 sites, a number of high school football sites, and athletic sites for Canton, Loyalsock, and Selinsgrove.
The site will launch in October.
