IAC GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: TALADA LEADS WAVERLY TO THREE WINS AT FIVE-TEAM MEET (11 PHOTOS) (2019-09-11)

WATKINS GLEN "” Waverly had four finishers in the top 10, led by senior Sheridan Talada, and eared three wins in the five-team meet here Tuesday afternoon in IAC girls cross country action.

Notre Dame was the top finisher with 30 placement points, while Waverly tallied 45 points, Lansing had 51 points, and Watkins Glen and Groton did not field a full team.

Notre Dame's Alyssa Walker won the event in a time of 18:38.97 on the 2.8-mile course, while Talada was second in 18:51.84.

Senior Elizabeth Fritzen finished sixth in a time of 20:46.25, while sophomore Olivia NIttinger paced eighth in 21:17.04, and senior Paige Ackley was 10th in 21:41.57.

Junior Hali Jenner (28:14.59), Aubrey Akins (28:14.59), and senior Morgan Lee (31:56.12) finished 22nd through 24th, respectively.

Waverly's Elizabeth Vaughn was the top girls finisher in the co-ed junior high race, placing eighth in a time 11:42.96, while Harper Minaker was 15th in 13:01.82, and Allison Barrett was 18th in 14:02.81.

Waverly returns to action Saturday at the Owego Invitational.
