SOUTHPORT "” Tioga's Ty Middendorf ran to a 10th-place finish to pace Tioga's efforts here Thursday in an IAC cross country quad-meet.

Newark Valley won the event with 25 placement points, while Notre Dame had 51 points, Thomas A. Edison had 74 points, and Tioga was fourth with 81 points.

Newark Valley's Jonny Sherwood won the 4K race in a time of 14:01.6.

Middendorf clocked in at a time of 15:55.7, while Thomas Hurd was 12th in 16:19.8, and Mason Card was 14th at 16:30.6.

Kyle Earley finished 22nd for the Tigers in 18:06.5, while Nate Jaye was 23rd in 18:22.7, Michael Strait was 26th in 19:08.8, and Max Dydynski was 27th in 20:15.3.

Also competing for Tioga was Zach Nichols (20:43.3), Dawson Hpilhower (20:50.2), Colt Herrala (21:13.9), Zander Whitmore (21:16.2), Jack Cary (26:41.3), and Reed Cook (27:33.9).

GIRLS
Maria Nichols led the under-manned Tioga girls with a 12th-place finish in the four-team meet.

Nichols clocked in at 20:34.9 on the 4K-course, while Nicole DeBoer was 18th in 25:59.2.

Notre Dame won the race with 15 placement points, while Edison was second with 49. Newark Valley also did not field a complete team.

Notre Dame's Alyssa Walker won the race in a time of 15:36.8.

Tioga returns to action Saturday at the NEB Invitational.
