NTL VOLLEYBALL: WYALUSING AVENGES EARLY-SEASON LOSS WITH 3-1 WIN OVER SAYRE (2019-10-10)
Valley Sports ReportWYALUSING - Sayre pulled out the first set, but Wyalusing rallied to avenge a five-set loss earlier this season with a 3-1 win here Thursday night in NTL volleyball action.
The Lady Redskins won the opener, 25-23, but the Lady Rams closed out the match with wins of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-19.
Senior Lexi Post led Sayre with 13 points and 10 digs, while sophomore Gianna Quatrini had eight points and four kills, and senior Julia Boyle added four points, six kills, three blocks, 12 setter assists, and six digs.
Senior Madeline Wilson registered four kills and four blocks, while junior Gabbi Randall had six kills and one block, senior Emily Brion added five digs, and senior Hannah Garrity chipped in with four digs.
Lylah Oswald led Wyalusing with 16 kills and 27 digs, while Daphne Fassett had seven kills and 15 digs, Emily Lewis had six kills five service aces, and 15 digs, Imogen Herbert added 13 assists, and Priscilla Newton chipped in with 12 digs.
Sayre, now 3-11, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Towanda.
JV: Wyalusing swept the junior varsity match by scores of 25-16 and 25-19.
