IAC GIRLS BASKETBALL: TIOGA NUMBERS 'SOLID' HEADING INTO 2019-20 CAMPAIGN (8 PHOTOS) (2019-11-19)
Valley Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER "” Longtime Tioga girls basketball coach Joe Robinson says his program's numbers are solid heading into the 2019-20 campaign.
"It's good to be back at it again," he said. "This is a good group of girls.
"We have nine girls on varsity," said Robinson. "They are all back from last year, we lost one to graduation, and we didn't move any of the JV kids up.
"We have 12 on the JV team, so our numbers are solid," he added.
Robinson said the focus of the Lady Tigers' preseason is to get back into basketball mode.
"Most of these girls don't play a lot of basketball throughout the year, so (the focus) is just getting them use to having a basketball in their hands again.
"Eve (Wood) and Olivia (Ayres) are the only two who play (basketball) during the summer," said Robinson. "The others play travel volleyball ... we do have athletes on the floor."
Tioga will host scrimmages Tuesday against Thomas A. Edison, and Wednesday against Dryden. Next Tuesday, Tioga will scrimmage at Lansing.
