IAC GIRLS BOWLING: US / PB WINS TEAM TITLE AT IAC KICK-OFF TOURNAMENT; WAVERLY FINISHES SECOND, TIOGA FOURTH (2019-12-08)

WAVERLY - Union Springs / Port Byron posted the top three individual scores and won the team title here Saturday afternoon at the inaugural IAC Kick-Off Tournament in boys bowling action, while Waverly finished second and Tioga eighth.

US/PB amassed 2,535 pins, well ahead of runner-up Waverly, which tallied 2,337 pins, and third-place Watkins Glen, which had 2,014 pins. Tioga had 1,663 pins.

Colleen Jump won the individual gold with a 554 series, while Makayla Smith was second at 538, and Alexis Colbert was third at 533.

Eighth-grader Rachel Houseknecht led Waverly with a 520 series, while senior Mackenzie Plouse rolled a 494, and freshman Shantilly Decker shot a 470.

Freshman Victoria Houseknecht had a 461 for the Lady Wolverines, and junior Haley Kittle added a 392.

Senior Bailey Elston led Tioga with a 383, while junior Cassie Birney rolled a 377, and freshman Bobbi Jo Tarbox had a 369.

Junior Destini Sweet had a 322 for the Lady Tigers, while senior Mackenzie Macumber added a 309, and freshman Caroline Chapman tacked on a 280.

Tioga hosts Marathon Tuesday, while Waverly travels to Union Sptings / Port Byron on Wednesday.
