Valley Sports ReportAUBURN, N.Y. "” Union Springs / Port Byron pulled out a closely-contested sweep of Waverly here Wednesday afternoon in IAC Large School Division boys bowling action at Starlite Lanes.
US / PB won the first game 935-910, then won by sores of 981-916, and 905-878 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,2821 to 2,704.
Freshman Zach Vanderpool led Waverly with a 611 series on games of 225, 194, and 192, while senior Derrick Canfield shot a 587, including games of 203 and 221, and sophomore Cody Blackwell rolled a 511.
Freshman Ashton Pritchard had a 504, while junior Matt Mauersberg added a 491, and sophomore Richard Stevens tacked on a 366.
Michael Jesmer led US / PB rolled a 708 series on games of 223, 259, and 226, while James Casbarro had a 552, and Thomas Radley added a 546.
Waverly, now 8-4, and Tioga squares off Thursday at the Valley Bowling Center.
