WINDSOR - Waverly's Ethan Stotler pinned his way into the semifinals of the 63rd Annual Windsor Christmas Tournament here Friday.

The third seed at 160 pounds, Stotler dispatched Greene / Oxford's Hunter Page in 3:45 in his opening bout, then made short work of Enver Bulatov of Christian Brothers Academy / Jamesville-DeWitt, decking him in 34 seconds.

Stotler faces No. 2 seed Jarrett O'Connell of Horseheads in the semis Saturday, which start at 10 a.m.

The rest of the Wolverines' contingent wasn't as fortunate. They fell into the wrestlebacks on day one.

Garrett Skeens (132) started the day with a pin of Lasalle's John Whalen in 1:34, then lost to Windsor's Deekon Flint by fall in 5:14. His next match will be against Indian River's Ethan Garrison.

Austin Kimble (152) threw some nice moves on Windsor's Noah Yadlosky en route to a 9-5 victory in the pigtail round, but ran into top-seeded Jake Scibek of Horseheads in the preliminary round and lost by fall in 1:39. He bounced back with a pin of Burnt Hills' Tristan Goss in 1:56. He takes on Pat Spatafora of Saratoga Springs in his next bout.

Conner Stotler (106) gave Owen Marcin of Greene / Oxford a battle before succumbing, 12-6. He will face Indian River's Kane Lynch.

Rylan Laforest (126) fell to Zachary Johns of Suffield, Connecticut, 12-1. He will meet Dominic Tebano of Mohansen.

Andrew Kimble faced the top seed at 160, Aiden Poe of Indian River, and lost by pin in 52 seconds. He meets Walton / Delhi's Will Pettit in the wrestlebacks.

Trevor Meyers (170) dropped his first match to CBA/JD's Tyriq Block by fall in 1:38 and will take on Orestas Papas of Canandaigua next.

Gage Tedesco (182) fell to Windsor's Gabe Monroe by pin in 2:57. He takes on Horseheads' Allan Walker in his next match.

Trent Skeens lost by fall to Kaylieb Stanton of Walton / Delhi in 1:11 and will take on Shane Slowe of Canandaigua next.

Cole Stanton (138) lost to Towanda's Joe Vanderpool by fall in 52 seconds and was eliminated by Greene / Oxford's Damien Hitt by pin in 37 seconds.

Waverly is tied for 23rd place in the 33-team field with 15 points. Horseheads and Mt. Sinai are tied for the lead with 66.5.

Wrestling resumes at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with the semis at 10 a.m. and the finals at 4:30 p.m.
