NTL GIRLS SWIMMING: SAYRE'S SHAY A DOUBLE-WINNER; TOWANDA PREVAILS, 86-47 (2020-01-23)

TOWANDA "” Senior Jillian Shay was a double-winner, but Towanda won seven of 10 events in an 86-47 win over Sayre here Thursday afternoon in NTL girls swimming action.

Shay won the 200-yard freestyle in a district-qualifying time of 2:16.94. She also won the 500-yard freestyle in a district-qualifying time of 6:02.03.

Senior Kayla Hughey won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:15.06, and senior Jordyn Maxim was third in 1:35.02. Hughey was second in the 50-yard freestyle in a district-qualifying time of 28.88 seconds.

Freshman Makenna Garrison finished third in the 100-yard freestyle for the Lady Redskins in a time of 1:17.56.

Sayre returns to action Monday when it hosts Athens.
