THE VALLEY "” A busy week features four home games for the Athens girls basketball team, and two key home games on the hardwoods for the Athens boys. It closes Saturday with the Tioga wrestlers in action at the New York State Duals at Onondaga Community College.

There are 35 events on the docket this week, including 11 on Tuesday, and seven on Thursday.

The following are some, not all, of the week's top events:

"¢  The Athens girls host Windsor in a non-league basketball contest.

"¢  The Tioga boys host Thomas A. Edison in a varsity-only contest at 5:30 p.m.

"¢  The Waverly boys host Newark Valley, while the Lady Wolverines travel to Newark Valley.

"¢  The Lady Wildcats host Wyalusing on the hardwoods in their second of four home games on the week.

"¢  The Sayre boys host Cowanesque Valley on the hardwoods.

"¢  The Tioga boys host arch-rival Candor, while the Lady Tigers travel to Candor.

WEDNESDAY (4)
"¢  The Athens girls host Williamson in their third home game in as many days.

THURSDAY (7)
"¢  The Athens boys host Wyalusing in a key NTL Large School hoop match-up.

"¢  The Waverly girls host Notre Dame on the hardwoods.

"¢  The Waverly boys host Greene in the pool.

FRIDAY (6)
"¢  The Athens girls host Towanda in their fourth home game of the week.

"¢  The Sayre girls host North Penn-Liberty in the hardwoods.

"¢  The Tioga girls host division-leading Newfield, while the boys travel to Newield.
