DISTRICT 4 BASKETBALL: ATHENS-SAYRE BOYS IN PLAYOFF DOUBLEHEADER AT TROY; ATHENS GIRLS PLAY AT WILLIAMSPORT (2020-02-23)

THE VALLEY - The Sayre and Athens boys will play in a postseason doubleheader at the Troy Commons Building Wednesday night, while the Lady Wildcats will continue their playoff trek Tuesday night at Williamsport High School.

BOYS
Sixth-seeded Sayre (12-12) will square off with fifth-seed Canton (13-12) Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Class AA consolation game. The winner will earn a berth to the PIAA playoffs.

At 8 p.m., fifth-seeded Athens (18-6) will face top-seed Montoursville (18-4) in the semifinals of the Class AAAA tournament.

The winner will face the winner of the game between second-seed Danville (19-6) and sixth-seed Jersey Shore (13-10). The losers will square off in the consolation game for the final PIAA playoff spot.

GIRLS
Second-seed Athens (21-4) will square off with third-seed Shamokin (15-8) Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The winner faces the winner of the game between top-seed Danville (22-3) and fourth-seed Mifflinburg (11-12). The losers will square off in the consolation game for a berth in the Class AAAA playoffs.
