DISTRICT 4 DIVING: GORSLINE LEADS THREE ATHENS DIVERS PLACING AT DISTRICTS (2020-02-23)
Valley Sports ReportBLOOMSBURG - Led by sophomore Kaden Gorsline, all three Athens divers placed here Saturday at the District 4 Diving Championships at Bloomsburg Middle School.
Gorsline placed third in the boys event with 352.8 points, and junior James Benninger-Jones finished sixth with 221.05 points.
Lewisburg swept the top two spots with Caleb Leaman winning gold with 43125 points, and Hunter Grimes taking the silver with 401.55 points.
Gorsline now awaits word on a wild care invite to the PIAA Championships.
First-year diver, junior Emma Roe, placed fourth in the girls event with 314.6 points - just 4.05 points out of third place.
Lewisburg's Kassie McTammany won the gold medal with 375.3 points, while Danville's Gabrielle Hackett won the silver with 351.7 points, and Bloomsburg's Alayna Lovelace finished third with 318.65.
The District 4 Swimming Championships are Wednesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. at Williamsport H.S.
