WOMEN'S COLLEGE GOLF: WAVERLY GRAD TOMASSO POSTS BEST COLLEGIATE ROUNDS AT KIAWAH ISLAND CLASSIC (2020-03-04)

KIAWAH, S.C. - Waverly grad Alex Tomasso, a freshman on the Merrimack College women's golf team, posted back-to-back collegiate-best rounds this week here at the prestigious 53-team Kiawah Island Classic at Oak Point & Osprey Point Golf Courses.

Tomasso, who shot an opening-round round of 85 on Sunday, shot consecutive rounds of 80 on Monday and Tuesday on the par-72, 5,964-yard course.

She finished the three-day tournament with a 54-hole total of 245 (29-over par). She was tied for 220th place in the 264-player field.

Jacksonville University's Maia Samuelsson shot a 6-under par 66 on Tuesday to win the individual title at 7-under par (209).

Merrimack College returns to action March 9-10 at the Lonnie Barton Invitational at Daytona Beach's LPGA International.
