COLLEGE BASKETBALL: WAVERLY GRAD NITTINGER FEMALE SCHOLAR ATHLETE OF YEAR AT DOMINICAN COLLEGE (2020-07-01)

ORANGEBURG, N.Y. - Waverly grad Elle Nittinger, a redshirt sophomore, was the 2019-20 Female Scholar Athlete of the Year at Dominican College, attaining a 4.0 GPA for the school year.

The award, given to the athlete with high GPA, also merits induction into Chi Alpha Sigma, and was announced via a virtual awards ceremony by the Dominican College Athletics Department.

Nittinger, who had a strong freshman season at Nyack College, redshirted the 2019-20 season after transferring to Dominican.

As a freshman, Nittinger, who started in 24 of the 25 games she played in, led Nycak at 12.6 points per game, and 60 3-pointers, shooting 29.7 percent from behind the arc.

She was second on the team with 6.6 rebounds per game, as well as steals with 35, and free throws made with 57. She also had 29 steals on the season.
