YOUTH BASKETBALL: SOUTHERN TIER HAWKS HOSTING 'OPEN GYMS' AT BOYS & GIRLS CLUB (2020-11-29)

OWEGO "” With local community youth programs shut down or severely hampered by Covid-19 restrictions, the Southern Tier Hawks AAU basketball program is offering open gyms each Monday night through the end of January here at the Tioga County Boys & Girls Club.

"We just want any young athlete who wants a place to play basketball to have one," said a Hawks spokesperson.

There is limited space available at the open gyms. They are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The cost is $5 per session. They will be held each Monday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

All athletes must sign a Covid 19 release, wear a mask and submit to a temperature check prior to participating. The open gyms will follow all state Covid-19 guidelines.
