IAC BOYS BOWLING: SLATER PACES TIOGA IN 3-1 WIN OVER EDISON (2021-01-15)
Valley Sports ReportELMIRA - Seventh-grader Nick Slater paced Tioga in a 3-1 win over Thomas A. Edison here Thursday afternoon in IAC boys bowling action.
The Tigers, bowling at one end of Rossi Lanes, bowled a 2,409 team series, while the Spartans, bowling at the other end of the center, rolled a 2,238.
Tioga opened the match with a 799-734 win, but Edison bounced back with an 819-716 win in the second game. Tioga closed out the match with an 894-685 win in the third game, thanks in large part to a 224 by Nick Slater and a 199 by Rocco Fariello.
Nick Slater led Tioga with a 530 series, while Gage Cain rolled a 507, and Fariello had a 488.
Dylan Slater rolled a 463 for the Tigers, while Levi Card added a 406, and Reed Cook tacked on a 375.
Zack Crown led Edison with a match-high 599 series.
Tioga, now 7-1, returns to action Tuesday in a "virtual" match. The Tigers will bowl at Valley Bowling Center, while the Cardinals bowl at home at the Cardinal Lanes.
