Breanna Gambrell, a junior on the Penn State women's track & field team, registered a pair of first-place finishes - both personal-best performances, and one second-place finish here Saturday at the Nittany Lion Indoor Track & Field Opener.
Gambrell won the long jump with a leap of 6.21 meters (20-feet, 4 1/2-inches) – topping her previous personal-best of 6.19 meters. She finished 13 inches better than her teammate and runner-up Audra Koopman.
She also won the triple jump with an effort of 12.48 meters (40-feet, 11-inches) - bettering her previous personal-best of 12.37 meters. She finished 10 inches ahead of Rutgers' Claudine Smith
Gambrell finished second in the 60-meter dash in a time of 7.66 seconds. Maryland's Bria Mack won the event in a time of 7.61 seconds.
Penn State returns to action Saturday when it hosts the Penn State Invite.
