IAC BOWLING: TIOGA BOYS TOP NEWARK VALLEY, 3-1; LADY TIGERS SWEEP (2021-01-19)

WAVERLY "” The Tioga boys, absent three starters, pulled out a 3-1 decision over Newark Valley, and the Lady Tigers swept a short-handed Lady Cardinals team here Tuesday after in a "virtual" IAC bowling match.

The Tigers posted a team score of 2,401 at the Valley Bowling Center, while the Cardinals shot a 2,304 at Cardinal Lanes.

Tioga won the first game 835-731, and the second game 605-749, but Newark Valley avoided the sweep with a 824-761 win in the third game.

Rocco Fariello banged out a 669 series to lead the Tigers, including games of 242 and 257, while Kolton Pond rolled a 519, and Gage Cain had a 518.

Reed Cook added a 355 in the win, and Levi Card tacked on a 340.

Vincent Peck led a balanced NV line-up with a 485 series.

Jamie Card shot a career-high 470 series to lead the Lady Tigers to an 1,889 to 885 win over Newark Valley, which had just two bowlers in its line-up.

BobbiJo Tarbox rolled a 420 in the win, while Chloe Gillette added a 404.

Lily Austin led Newark Valley with a 479 series.

Tioga takes on Small School Division-leading O-M Thursday in a virtual match.
