BOYS BASKETBALL
Waverly at Elmira, noon varsity start: The Wolverines dropped a 63-57 decision at Horseheads Thursday.

NEB (10-7) at Sayre (5-12), 1 p.m. varsity start: The Redskins are coming off a 61-59 win at Cowanensque Valley Friday, while the Panthers topped CV, 78-57, Thursday.

Sayre is currently the seventh seed in the District 4, Class AA playoffs, while NEB is the third seed.

Tioga (1-6) at Newark Valley (0-4), 2 p.m. varsity start: The Tigers notched their first win of the season Thursday at home, topping Newark Valley, 43-35.

Athens (13-8) at Loyalsock (18-1), 6 p.m. JV start: The Wildcats are coming off a 65-56 win at North Penn-Mansfield Friday night, while the Lancers edged St. John Neumann, 84-81 on Tuesday.

Athens remains the fifth seed in the upcoming Class AAAA playoffs, while Loyalsock has locked up the top seed in the Class AAA playoffs.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Newark Valley (5-1) at Tioga (1-5), noon varsity start: The Lady Cardinals rolled to an 87-37 win over Tioga Thursday night.

Waverly at Elmira, 3:30 p.m. varsity ONLY: The Lady Wolverines are coming off a 56-43 win over Horseheads Thursday.
