NTL WRESTLING: ATHENS BRADLEY NAMED NTL 'WRESTLER OF THE YEAR;' FIVE TEAMMATES EARN SECOND-TEAM ALL-STAR HONORS (2021-03-24)

Athens junior Gavin Bradley racked up a 40-2 record, was a PIAA runner-up at 113 pounds this season, and has earned the distinction of NTL "Wrestler of the Year" in recent voting by the league's coaches.

Bradley was the lone Wildcat named to the first team, but five of his teammates - freshman Mason Vanderpool, sophomore Jake Courtney, juniors Kaden Setzer and Karter Rude, and senior Zach Stafursky - were named to the second team.

On his way to a state silver medal, Bradley won the North Section, District 4, and Northeast Regional titles. He was runner-up at the PIAA East Super Regional.

Vanderpool had a 14-6 record in his first varsity season. He finished second at the North Section Championships to qualify for the District 4 Championships.

Courtney was 16-11 this season. He finished third at North Sections, and was sixth at Districts.

Setzer was 26-9 on the season. He finished second at North Sections, and fifth at Districts to qualify for the Northeast Regionals.

Rude was 24-9 on the season. He finished third at the North Sections to qualify for Districts.

Stafursky capped his career with a 21-12 season. He finished second at North Sections to qualify for Districts.

Canton had five first-team all-star, and Lyle Wesneski was named "Coach of the Year."

106 pounds: Clayton Carr, freshman, Wyalusing: Finished season at 14-2, placed second at North Sections to qualify for Districts.

120: Isaac Landis, senior, Canton: Was 7-4 on the season. He won a North Section title to qualify for Districts.

126: Seth Seymour, junior, Troy: Was 21-6 on the season. He won the North Section title, and finished fifth at Districts to qualify for Northeast Regionals.

132: Bailey Ferguson, sophomore, Canton: Was 8-3 on the season. He finished second at North Sections to qualify for Districts.

138: Hayden Ward, sophomore, Canton: Was 11-3 on the season. He won a North Section title, and finished second at Districts to qualify for the Northeast Regionals.

145: Hudson Ward, freshman, Canton: Was 10-2 on the season. He finished third at North Sections to qualify for Districts.

152: Nick Woodruff, junior, Wyalusing: Was 16-5 on the season. He won a North Section title, and finished fifth at Districts to qualify for the Northeast Regionals.

160: Riley Parker, sophomore, Canton: Was 10-3 on the season. He won a North Section title, and finished sixth as Districts.

172: Kohen Lehman, sophomore, North Penn-Liberty: Was 17-8 on the season. He won a North Section title, finished fourth at Districts, third at the Northeast Regionals, and sixth at the East Super Regionals.

189: Zach Shaffer, senior, Wyalusing: Was 12-7 on the season. He finished second at North Sections, and sixth at Districts.

215: Clay Watkins, senior, Towanda: Was 17-8 on the season. He won a North Section title, finished fifth at Districts, and fourth at the Northeast Regional.

285: Kade Sottolano, junior, Williamson: Was 30-4 on the season. He won a North Section title, and was third at Districts to qualify for the Northeast Regional.

106 pounds: Cohen Landis, freshman, Canton: Was 9-2 on the season. He finished third at North Sections to qualify for Districts.

113: Joseph Schwenk, senior, Troy: Was 14-11 on the season. He finished second at North Sections, and sixth at Districts.
