SCRANTON "” Sayre grad Quinn Hanafin, a freshman on the Lackawanna College baseball team had quite a day to start a recent five-game road trip for the Falcons.

On March 27 in the first game of a doubleheader at Allegany College in Cumberland, Md., Hanafin belted his first collegiate home run and singled, scored two runs, and had three RBI in a 16-4 win.

In the nightcap, Hanafin cracked a pair of home runs, scored three runs, and collected four RBI in a 20-2 five-inning win.

In his next three games, Hanafin was 1-for-8, with a double, four runs scored and one RBI.

On the season, Hanafin is hitting .425 (17 hits in 40 ABs), with 22 runs scored, four doubles, three home runs, and 21 RBI. He has walked 11 times, giving him a .540 on-base percentage, and struck out 10 times.

Defensively, he has committed just one error in 26 defensive chances for a .962 fielding percentage.

Lackawanna College, now 13-4 and winners of eight straight, return to action Friday in a doubleheader at Westmoreland County CC in Youngwood, Pa.
