COLLEGE BASEBALL: TIOGA GRAD HENDERSHOT CAPS BIG WEEKEND WITH TWO-HOMER GAME IN PENN STATE'S LOSS TO PURDUE (2021-04-14)

Valley Sports Report
STATE COLLEGE - After homering on his first at-bat of the season, Tioga grad Parker Hendershot, a senior on the Penn State baseball team, has struggled in limited playing time. This weekend, those struggles ended as Hendershot collected six hits, including a two home run game on Sunday.

Hendershot, was 3-for-17 at the plate in Penn State's first 18 games.

On Friday night, in just his sixth start of the season, Hendershot singled in three at-bats in Penn State's 7-3 win at Michigan State.

On Saturday, Hendershot rapped out three singles for his first multi-hit game of the season, scored one run, stole a base, and drove in two runs in the Nittany Lions' 11-0 win at Purdue.

On Sunday, Hendershot made his third consecutive start at first base, and blasted a pair of solo home runs - the first multi-homer game of his career - in Penn State's 8-5 loss at home to Purdue. He also walked twice in the game, including one intentional walk.

On the season, Hendershot is hitting .321 (9 hits in 28 ABs) with three home runs, six RBI, four runs scored, and one stolen base.

Penn State, now 8-13, returns to action Friday to begin a three-game home series against Nebraska.
