COLLEGE BASEBALL: TIOGA GRAD HENDERSHOT HELPS PENN STATE TO SWEEP OF MICHIGAN STATE (2021-05-05)

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Tioga grad Parker Hendershot, a junior on the Penn State baseball team, banged out six hits over the weekend in the Nittany Lions' sweep of Michigan State in Big Ten baseball action.

Hendershot, who doubled and drove in two runs in Penn State's 10-6 win in the series finale at Ohio State on April 25, opened the Michigan State series on Friday with a double and a single, and two RBI in an 8-7 win.

On Saturday, Hendershot was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI in Penn State's 27-4 win.

On Sunday, Hendershot singled and scored one run in Penn State's 5-3 win.

Hendershot, who has a four-game hit streak, is now batting .322 (19 hits in 59 ABs) on the season with two doubles, three home runs, 13 RBI and seven runs scored.

Defensively, Hendershot, playing primarily first base, is flawless in the field in 95 defensive chances. He has four assists.

Penn State, now 12-18, returns to action this weekend in a three-game set at Iowa.
