Valley Sports ReportWYALUSING - Sayre Legion Post #283 scored four runs in the top of the first, but Wyalusing Valley rallied quickly en route to a 9-5 win here Thursday evening in Bradford-Tioga Legion Baseball League baseball action.
After Jake Burgess and Jackson Hubbard worked walks to lead-off the game, Brayden Horton rolled a hard groundball single into right field, but Burgess was cut down at the plate
Sayre was not deterred, however. Following an error off the bat of Zach Garrity that loaded the bases, Kannon VanDuzer stroked a two-RBI single to center field, and Dom Fabbri followed with an RBI single to make it 3-0.
Josh Arnold knocked in a run with a groundout to give Sayre a 4-0 lead.
After Wyalusing scored three runs in the home half of the inning, Jake Burgess lined a one-out single to left field, and scored on a one-out RBI double in the gap by Hubbard to make it 5-3.
Wyalusing scored three more runs in the bottom of the second to take a 6-5 lead, and held Sayre scoreless over the final five innings. Wyalusing tacked on one insurance run in the third inning, and two more in the fourth.
Burgess was 3-for-3 with a run scored to lead Sayre at the plate, while VanDuzer singled, scored one run, and drove in two runs, Hubbard doubled, scored one run, and knocked in one run, and Dom Fabbri singled twice and had one RBI.
Horton singled and scored one run for Sayre, while Garrity scored one run, and Arnold had one RBI.
VanDuzer was tagged with the loss, allowing six runs - one earned - on four hits, while striking out two and walking one in two innings on the mound.
Fabbri gave up three runs on five hits, while striking out three in two innings of relief, and Hubbard allowed one hit and struck out two in two scoreless innings of relief.
