PIAA GOLF: SAYRE'S VanDUZER CAPS CAREER WITH 20TH-PLACE FINISH AT STATE TOURNAMENT (2021-10-18)
Valley Sports ReportYORK, Pa. - Sayre senior Kannon VanDuzer capped a stellar career here Monday with a Top 20 finish at the PIAA, Class AA golf Championships.
VanDuzer fired a nine-over par round of 80 to finish in a tie for 20th-place on the 6,502-yard, par-71 Heritage Hills Golf Resort course.
VanDuzer, who started his round on the 10th hole, shot a four-over par 39 on the back nine.
He parred the first four holes, which gave him seven straight pars, and was five-over par after the seventh hole - his 16th on the day, but double-bogeyed his final two holes of the day.
North Penn-Mansfield junior Andrew Green finished in a tie for 15th with a round of 79.
Union City's Josh James won PIAA gold with a 1-over round of 72 - two shots better than Quaker Valley's Jackson Bould, Palmerston's Josh Suto, and Avonworth's Kai Carlson, who tied for second.
