NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: WYALUSING PULLS AWAY FROM SAYRE, 57-20 (2022-01-13)

WYALUSING — Wyalusing jumped out to an early lead, and pulled away for a 57-20 win over Sayre here Thursday night in NTL girls basketball action.

The Lady Rams led 13-6 after the opening stanza, and extended the lead to 27-10 at the half.

Wyalusing used a 16-4 third-quarter run to take a 43-14 lead into the final eight minutes.

Kendra Merrill led Sayre with nine points, four rebounds, four steals, and two assists, while Abbie McGaughey scored seven points, and Gabby Shaw grabbed three rebounds.

Bryn Zionkowski led Wyalusing with 17 points, while Olivia Leichliter scored 13 points, and Marissa Johnson added 10 points.

Sayre, now 0-6, returns to action Saturday at North Penn-Liberty.
