IAC BOYS BOWLING: CHAPMAN LEADS TIOGA IN 3-1 WIN OVER NEWARK VALLEY (2022-02-01)

NEWARK VALLEY — Tioga narrowly missed a sweep, dropping the third game by 4 pins, in a 3-1 win over Newark Valley Tuesday afternoon in IAC boys bowling action at Cardinal Lanes.

The Tigers won the opening game 888-852, and followed it up with an 828-766 win. The Cardinals closed out the match with a 904-900 win in the third game, but Tioga held on to win the total-pinfall count of 2,616 to 2,522.

Junior Frank Chapman led Tioga with a 597 series, including games of 236 and 204, while junior Gage Cain shot a 558, including a 200, and senior Dylan Slater had a 497.

Eighth-grader Nick Slater shot a 483 in the win, while junior Brad Webb had a 481, and senior Rocco Fariello had a 393.

John Fiacco led Newark Valley with a 582 series.

TIoga closes out the regular season Tuesday at Notre Dame.
