Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — The postseason is in high gear with District 4’s top track & field athletes converging on Williamsport vying for a trip to the PIAA Championships, while IAC wraps up its league meet. On the diamond, Tioga softball opens postseason play, while Sayre wraps up its 2022 campaign.

TRACK & FIELD
District 4 Championships, 5 p.m. @ Williamsport H.S.:
The Sayre boys and girls, and the Athens boys will competing in the Class AA Championships, while the Athens girls will compete in the Class AAA Championships.

Only a handful of medals (AA long jump, javelin, shot put, AA and AAA 3,200-meter relays) will be handed out tonight. The preliminaries and semi-finals in the 110-meter dash, and 100- and 110-meter hurdles will be run.

IAC Championships, 4:45 p.m. @ Trumansburg H.S.: The Lady Tigers are tied atop the team standings in the Small School ranks, while the Lady Wolverines are second in the Large School standings.

The Tioga boys are third and Waverly is fifth in their respective standings.

SOFTBALL
Class C Opening Round
10-Harpursville (8-5) at 7-Tioga (12-5), 5:30 p.m.:
The Lady Tigers dropped an 8-4 decision to Athens, then topped Sayre, 12-2, Saturday at the “Battle at the Border,” while the Lady Hornets topped Unadilla Valley, 17-1, in its season finale.

Galeton (3-12) at Sayre (0-18), 4:30 p.m.: 
The Lady Redskins dropped a 3-1 decision at Towanda Wednesday, while the Lady Tigers dropped an 11-2 decision to Port Allegany.
