Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY — The Waverly baseball team has an unexpected home game this afternoon with a berth in the Section IV, Class B championship game on the line, while the Wolverine track teams are in action at the Class C Championships.

Class B Semifinals
7-Chenango Valley (9-12) at 6-Waverly (11-9), 5 p.m.: The Wolverines are coming off a 3-1 win over third-seeded Dryden in the quarterfinals Monday, while the Warriors upended second-seed Susquehanna Valley, 10-8.
The Class B bracket is nearly upside down as top-seeded Windsor also lost in the semifinals, dropping a 5-1 decision to ninth-seeded Greene-Oxford.
Fourth-seed Oneonta, which beat fifth-seed Owego 2-0, is the only higher seed to win to this point in the bracket.
CV opened the season at 1-5, then won four in a row to even its record at 5-5, only to lose five out of six again.
Waverly opened the season at 9-2, but lost seven of its final eight to close out the regular season.

Waverly at Class C Championships, 3 p.m. @ Oneonta H.S.: Sophomore Micah Chandler leads the Waverly boys into action this afternoon, while junior Kennedy Westbrook and freshman Harper Minaker lead the Lady Wolverines.
