ATHENS — Athens rapped out eight hits, and a pair of pitchers combined on a 3-hitter in a 13-0 four-inning win over Sayre in pool play action of the Majors Division District 15 Little League baseball playoffs here Thursday evening in the completion of a game suspended by rain Wednesday.

Athens wraps up pool play at 2-0 to win the Mid East pool.

Shea Davidson earned the win, allowing one hit, while striking out two and walking one in two innings on the mound. Kade Rowe allowed two hits, while striking out five and walking one in two innings.

Ryan Hicks homered and singled, scored two runs, and had three RBI, and Cartyr Cockcroft singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in two runs to pace Athens at the plate, while Davidson singled, scored two runs, and knocked in two runs, and Joe Dickinson doubled, scored one run, and drove in two runs.

Sam Cheresnowsky singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run in the win, while Chase Gombocz singled and scored one run, Tyler Pelchey, Caleb Gorsline, and Peter Bertsch each scored one run, and Jacob Saxon had one RBI.

Athens took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, and stretched its lead to 10-0 with seven runs in the second inning. Athens tacked on three more runs in the third inning.
