YOUTH FOOTBALL: WAVERLY 'A' BATTLES PAST SAYRE; 'B,' 'C,' TEAMS FALL (2022-09-16)

WAVERLY — The Waverly “A” team pulled out an 18-13 win over Sayre here in Northern Tier Youth Football League action on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

Sayre’s “C” team blanked Waverly, 19-0; and the Sayre “B” team won, 20-0. (No information provided.)

Waverlys offense was led by Axel Murray with a 65-yard TD run and a 32-yard TD catch from QB Brody Lambert.

Melvin Oglesby added a 4-yard TD run to cap the Wolverines scoring.

The offensive line was led by Jax Myers, Jon Montgomery, and Gianna Zienuk.

Brayden Bowman and Brycen Fiske chipped into help the rushing attack while Gabe Hendershot caught one pass for 25 yards.

Waverlys defense was again led by Murray with eight tackles, and Avery Bowman, Eli Keeney, Hendershot, and Oglebsy with three tackles each.
