THE WEEK AHEAD: NTL GOLF SEASON DRAWS TO CLOSE; REST OF SPORTS ROLL ON (2022-09-25)

Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — The NTL golf season comes to an end this week, while the remainder of the sports teams roll on with their regular seasons.

There are 36 varsity events on the docket this week, including nine on Tuesday and seven on Saturday.

The following are some, not all, of this week’s events:

MONDAY (5)
•  The Athens and Sayre golfers wrap up the NTL regular season at Tomasso’s Golf Course.

•  The Waverly boys host Newark Valley on the pitch under the lights at Memorial Stadium.

•  Waverly volleyball hosts divisional rival Watkins Glen.

TUESDAY (9)
•  Sayre hosts North Penn-Mansfield and Sullivan County in NTL cross country action.

•  The Tioga girls host Notre Dame in IAC soccer action.

•  The Tioga boys host O-M under the lights on the pitch at Haggerty Field.

WEDNESDAY (3)

•  Tioga hosts SVEC in field hockey action.

•  Tioga hosts IAC divisional rival Edison on the volleyball hardwoods.

THURSDAY (6)
•  Day 1 of the District 4 Golf Championships at Williamsport Country Club.

•  The Waverly boys host SVEC in IAC divisional soccer action.

•  Waverly hosts a young and talented Watkins Glen in a girls soccer contest.

FRIDAY (6)
•  Athens football hosts NTL divisional rival Towanda for its annual Homecoming game.

•  Tioga football hosts Walton in a key divisional match-up at Haggerty Field.

•  The Waverly boys host Dryden on the soccer pitch under the lights at Memorial Stadium.

SATURDAY (7)

•  Waverly travels to face divisional football foe Oneonta in a matinee affair.

•  The Waverly girls travel to take on divisional rival Notre Dame on the pitch.

•  Athens hosts Northeast Bradford on the pitch in a morning affair at Alumni Stadium.

•  The Tioga girls host divisional soccer rival O-M in the morning, and the Tioga boys host non-league foe Susquehanna Valley in the afternoon.
