Sidney Tomasso, a sophomore on the St. John Fisher’s women’s basketball team, is averaging 11.3 points per game over the first three games to help the Lady Cardinals to a 3-0 start on the season.
Tomasso opened the season with 13 points, four rebounds, two steals, and one assist in 23 minutes in an 60-49 win over Buffalo State on Tuesday.
On Friday at the John Carroll Tip-Off Tournament in University Heights, Ohio, Tomasso had 12 points, six rebounds, two steals, one blocked shot, and one assist in 28 minutes in a 68-61 win over Hiram.
On Saturday, Tomasso scored nine points, including her first 3-pointer of the season, and had two rebounds, two steals, and one blocked shot in 28 minutes in a 70-48 over Allegheny in the championship game of the John Carroll Tip-Off Tournament.
St. John Fisher returns to action Thursday and Saturday in the “Mark’s Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout” with games against the University of Rochester, and RIT.
As a freshman, Tomasso started in all 27 games, and was named “Empire 8 Sportswoman of the Year” for competing “honor and integrity throughout the season.” She was also a three-time Empire 8 “Rookie of the Week.”
