IAC BOYS SOCCER: ROE TIOGA'S LONE FIRST-TEAM DIVISIONAL ALL-STAR; THREE TIGERS NAMED TO SECOND TEAM (2022-11-17)

Valley Sports Report
TIOGA CENTER — High-scoring junior Tyler Roe was Tioga’s lone first-team selection on the IAC South Small School Division all-star teams selected recently by the league’s coaches, but three of his teammates earned second-team nods.

Junior Ethan Landmesser, sophomore Jake Browne, and freshman Brady Landmesser were second-team selections for the Tigers.

Named IAC South Small School Division co-MVPs were Newfield senior Zach Taylor and Trumansburg senior Nick Angulo Stevenson.

FIRST TEAM
Forwards
Tyler Roe, junior, Tioga:
A major offensive force, Roe uses good speed and impressive foot skills to create scoring opportunities. He scored 22 goals on 73 shots, and dished out three assists in 2022.

Also named first-team forwards were: Trumansburg junior Nico Potenza, Newfield senior Sach Schwoeble, and Watkins Glen junior Jacob Yontz.

Midfield
Name to the first-team midfield was: Trumansburg junior Jack Mulford.

Defense
Named to the first-team defense were: Trumansburg seniors Drew Civiletto and Elijah Kearns Keller, Newfield sophomore Greg Taylor, Newfield senior Sawyer Emery, Watkins Glen senior Ross Pentz, and Watkins Glen junior Jaymes Forker.

Goalkeeper
Named the first-team goalkeeper was O-M junior David Patterson.

SECOND TEAM
Forwards

Named second-team forward was: Trumansburg’s Weston Peake.

Midfield
Brady Landmesser, freshman, Tioga:
The younger Landmesser made his presence felt on both ends of the field for the Tigers.

Also named to the second-team midfield were: Newfield sophomores Hezekiah McCoy and KaRon Emery, Newfield freshman Andrew Brenchner, O-M freshman Patrick Croft, Trumansburg junior Anthony Blomquist, Trumansburg senior Tyler Verrill, and Watkins Glen sophomores Liam Smith and Salvatore Purpura.

Defense
Ethan Landmesser, junior, Tioga:
A defensive standout, the elder Landmesser had one assist on the season.

Also named to the second-team defense was Newfield sophomore Riley White.

Goalkeeper
Jake Browne, sophomore, Tioga:
A first-year soccer player, Browne’s athleticism turned him into an instant success in net for the Tigers. He had 124 saves this season, including 23 in one game.

Also named a second-team goalkeeper was Trumansburg junior Jackson Riggins-George.
