IAC GIRLS BOWLING: DECKER LEADS WAVERLY IN SEASON-OPENING SWEEP OF LANSING (2022-11-29)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY — Seniors Shantilly Decker and Victoria Houseknecht each rolled 600 series to lead Waverly in a season-opening sweep of Lansing here Tuesday afternoon in IAC Large School Division girls bowling action at the Valley Bowling Center.
The Lady Wolverines won the first game 884-539, then reeled off wins of 933-581, and 900-615 for a total-pinfall win of 2,717 to 1,735.
Decker banged out a 656 series on games of 207, 256, and 193, while Victoria Houseknecht rolled a 618 on games of 234, 216, and 168.
Sophomore Serenity Conklin shot a 505 in Waverly’s sweep, while junior Rachael Houseknecht added a 503, 7th-grader Karis Hayes tacked on a 425 series, and 8th-grader Emily Houseknecht chipped in with a 334 series.
Kara Armstrong led the Lady Bobcats with a 461 series, and Desiree Wilson added a 388.
Waverly will host Union Springs Thursday in a key early-season division match-up.
