WAVERLY — All six Waverly bowlers, led by senior Ashton Pritchard, bowled 500 series in a sweep of Union Springs / Port Byron here Thursday afternoon in IAC South Large School Division boys bowling action at the Valley Bowling Center.

The Wolverines, now 8-0, won the first game 948-718, then reeled off wins of 907-787 and 990-826 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,845 to 2,331.

Pritchard led Waverly with a 596 series on games of 233, 141, and 222, while junior Carter Hayes shot a 576, including a 212, and senior Mike Cole, including games of 201 and 204.

Freshman Derek Johnson shot a 524 for the Wolverines, while senior Zach Vanderpool added a 520, and freshman Tristan Campbell tacked on a 513.

Senior Landyn Gunderson shot a 562 in reserve for Waverly, and 8th-grader Mason Apgar had a 531.

Matthew Kustyn led US / PB with a 501 series, and Dylan Howell and Matt Howell each shot 492 series.

Waverly returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Watkins Glen.
