IAC GIRLS BOWLING: DECKER, HOUSEKNECHT LEAD WAVERLY TO SWEEP OF NOTRE DAME (2023-01-05)

WAVERLY — Seniors Shantilly Decker and Rachel Houseknecht led Waverly to a sweep of Notre Dame here Thursday afternoon in IAC Large School girls bowling action.

The Lady Wolverines won the first game 797-567, then won the final two games by scores of 835-646, and 893-600 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,525 to 1,813.

Decker rolled a 597 series, including games of 214 and 220, while Rachel Houseknecht shot a 591, including games of 209 and 212.

Sophomore Serenity Conklin had a 492 in the sweep, while 8th-grader Emily Houseknecht had a 427,   and 7th-grader Karis Hayes added a 418.

Jade Nordin led Notre Dame with a 464 series.

Waverly, now 27-5, hosts Lansing Tuesday.
